28 July 2010 Trip on the Bernina Express

The train runs between Davos and the little town of Tirano in the picturesque Veltlin valley. Along this route there are 55 tunnels and 196 bridges, as well as inclines of up to 70 per mille that are negotiated without the benefit of a rack-and-pinion track. From the observation carriage with panoramic views you will be able to see glaciers and palm trees, important cultural monuments and picturesque villages. Since the summer of 2008, the section between Thusis and Tirano has been part of the UNESCO world heritage site.

As part of our Silver Anniversary celebrations, the organiser and founder of the Swissalpine Marathon, Andrea Tuffli, will also take the trip and tell fellow passengers a little about the birth and history of the Swissalpine.

28 July 2010 Swissalpine anniversary evening with jazz at the Steigenberger Grandhotel Belvédère

We will be celebrating our silver anniversary. A multi-media programme starts at 7.00 p.m. in the Vinothek of the official Marathon hotel Steigenberger Grandhotel Belvédère, with jazz music, a slide show and a live interview with Andrea Tuffli and former participants. At 6.30 p.m. starts the Pasta-Party for everyone.
