There are still many discussions, speculation and rumours about what route will be run next summer. Today, we are finally letting the cat out of the bag:
Sertig, we are coming back! On 28 July 2012 the route will run over the Sertigpass as in 1986-1997 and in 2011.
The organisation committee opted for this decision because the feedback was positive throughout. What is more, the organisation can be better implemented as regards safety and logistics. The top priority is the runners' safety. They spend less time at 2,500 metres above sea level on the Sertig variant, and it is possible to fly longer in the event of difficult weather conditions. But you do not have to do without the panorama part entirely, because the first part to the Ravaisch Seen – Alp Funtauna junction is also part of the Sertig variant.
Here is an outlook on the 27th Swissalpine next summer:
Finish K78
The extension of the maximum time to 14 hours has paid off. This means that you can also finish until 21.00 hours in 2012 and celebrate your success with an alcohol-free beer.
2 starting blocks K42 / K21
By spreading the runners over 2 starting blocks, congestion was avoided in 2011. For this reason, we will again start in 2 blocks next year.
K42 starting in Bergün
1st block: 10.30h, all runners with a guide time of less than 5 hours
2nd block: 11.30h, all runners with a guide time of more than 5 hours
K21 starting in Klosters
1st block: 14.05h, all runners with a guide time of less than 2.05 hours
2nd block: 14.30h, all runners with a guide time of more than 2.05 hours
Please inform us about the expected running time for K42 and K21 when registering.
WALK – NOW 10 kilometres
Nordic Walking continues to be a major trend in preventive health prevention. But the number of participants in WALK has nevertheless been falling dramatically in recent years. The organisation committee does not simply want to cancel this event, but give health promotion another chance. The aim is to interest a broader public in WALK by reducing its distance to 10 kilometres.
Here you can find all details on WALK. We look forward to welcoming you as a participant!
MINI – additional Teenies category
The disappointment of many children was huge when they were no longer able to participate in the MINI run due to their age. It was even bigger when they heard that they should run with the seniors in K10.
10 kilometres is still far too long a distance for younger teenagers in particular. For this reason, we will offer an additional category called Teenies for 11- to 12-year-olds that is 1.4 km long. You can find the details on the route here.
Online registration Swissalpine 2012 – NOW already from 11.11.11
