| Content HTML Dear Participant,
Once again we were able to hold the SAD in the best possible weather conditions. We thank you for taking part and congratulate you on your performance. Sadly, Richard Harrison suffered a severe head injury coming down from the Scaletta Pass and we wish him - and all others who were injured - a very speedy recovery.
The correction of the stage finishing times from Filisur during the K78 got even worse due to the build-up of a jam at approximately 10 km. Consequently, a lot more runners than expected had to be pulled from the race, which naturally enough led to a certain amount of anger and resentment. We have therefore decided the following:
1. All participants taken out of the K78 race will receive a shirt and medal during the course of August 2008. In addition, they will receive a free start for 2009.
2. From 2009, the stage finishing times will again be fixed as previously
(e.g. Bergün 13.00, Keschhütte 15.40 hours). However, as in 2008, they will be implemented with a zero tolerance for reasons of safety.
3. The jam that built up at the 10 km mark of the K78 must be reduced. Various measures are currently being tried out in this respect. The same applies to the K21 at the 5 and 18 km marks.
We apologise for the resulting trouble and will be delighted if you will still see fit to continue supporting the SAD.
Yours sincerely,
For the Organising Committee:
Andrea Tuffli
