New route K78
We are changing back to the previous route between Monstein and the Zügen Gorge. This means a highly strenuous counterslope and a steep downhill pass are no longer involved. It has also been necessary to modify the section between Surava and Tiefencastel because of extensive weather damage. The resulting changes to the altitudes involved are insignificant.
Cultural marathon
Since July 2008, the Albula/Bernina line of the Rhaetian Railway has been a UNESCO world heritage site. The C42 in particular can benefit from this exclusive distinction. As a cultural marathon, it brings together completely unique cultural features, landscapes and languages. In addition, on the return trip from Tiefencastel to Davos, you have to cross the world-famous Landwasser viaduct. Details
