The Swissalpine is facing its most significant relaunch in its 32 years success story. The present supreme race discipline over 76 km (K78) is being substituted for the first time on July 28, 2018 by the Irontrail discipline (T88) over a distance of 88 km, starting in St. Moritz and finishing in Davos.
«Swissalpine – Race spectacle in three series» was the promise made by the organis-ers. With the K78, the King's race of the Swissalpine Marathon and five further races in this series, the T214 and two other races for the Swiss Irontrail and with four races in the Swiss Trail Series, this promise was easily fulfilled.
The Swissalpine Marathon and the Swiss Irontrail have been brought together under one roof. In the Grisons and centred in Davos, in last week of July, everyone can find a path to suit – whether ultra, mountain, hobby runners or families.

With a most impressive performance, local lass Jasmin Nunige won the 30th Swissalpine in Davos on Saturday. Running on her home territory, she out-ran her closest competitor by almost half an hour. As far as the men went, Evgenii Glyva from the Ukraine was triumphant.
With the decision of series winner, Jonas Buud, not to participate, there is certain to be a new hero of the Swissalpine on 25th July in Davos. The pace of the women runners on this 30th anniversary event will surely be set by local lass Jasmin Nunige.
